Weekly Music Jamming sessions
Over the last few months we have been holding free weekly jamming sessions for young musicians/singers aged 12-19 @ The Customs House in South Shields. Every month these sessions explore a different music theme/genre. The sessions are facilitated by Siobhan Stanley and Dean Stobbs and each week they are joined by expert performing artists. The sessions are a chance for young people to learn from experienced musicians, explore different music genres and jam together.

Monthly Music @
South Shields Market Square
These events take place on a Saturday at the same time as South Shields’ Saturday market. Our first monthly music event took place in July and showcased music from Africa and South Asia. The event complemented our weekly music jamming sessions which followed the theme of global music.

Drop-in Music Sessions with
Siobhan Stanley
We also deliver drop-in music sessions that combine music and storytelling, for young children who are accompanied by an adult. They are informal, interactive and multi-sensory. If you’d like to add one of these drop-in sessions to your event, then please get in touch.

Opportunities to perform
We have lots of opportunities for grassroots singers & musicians to perform at our events.
We provide live music to compliment the South Shields Seaside Market which takes place under the covered walkway next to Sandhaven Beach and the ampitheatre. In addition to South Shields Seaside markets, we also deliver live music at other events. This year, we have already delivered live music at the South Tyneside Youth Council event, NECA Community garden funday, Monthly Music and the Ocean Road Mela.
Whether you are an experienced performer, grassroots musician or right at the start of your performing journey, we are keen to hear what you can do. We pay fair rates that reflect experience. Just get in touch with us via our Facebook page or email us at createandconnect.cic@gmail.com with your name, a bit of background and any links/videos of you performing that you might have.
If you are a young performing artist under the age of 16, then please get a parent/guardian to contact us, as we will need their consent in order for you to perform.
