What we do
The Big River Makers Market
We have run makers markets in a range of locations including the Market Square, undercover walkway next to Sandhaven Beach, Ocean Rd Community Centre and NECA Community Garden, all in South Shields – as well as The Barnes Institute, Whitburn and the Scout Hut in East Boldon. Our makers markets are a great opportunity to buy unique and beautiful handmade gifts from local crafters. Many of our markets also include additional elements such as live music, drop-in craft activities, facepainting and street performances.
Music – Projects & Opportunities
Our music projects enable people to enjoy live music and participate in music making. We also have a number of opportunities for performing artists and are committed to supporting grassroots/young musicians and singers.
Other Projects
Our organisation is always open to new ideas and collaborations. We want to help promote the work of other community groups. Last year we held a creative funday at NECA Community Garden in South Shields and were one of the key organisations involved in the planning and delivery of The Ocean Road Mela.
